Iaijutsu
In each turn, the participants with the lower void goes first.
Step 1.
Awareness / Perception / Empaty rolls can be made every turn to discover something about the opponent. Successful Awareness tells the opponent iaijutsu skill, Perception his Reflexes and Empathy his Void. This goes on, until one of the participants decides to „raise”.
Step 2.
Participants takes turn to „Raise”, until one of them decides to “Strike” or runs out of Void and has to “Strike”. Each “Raise” act as an increase damage modifier (- to attack and + damage)
Step 3.
Who decides to “Strike” comes second. His opponent attacks first with a negative modifier to his attack roll, which amount to the number of raises both participants made. All attacks are considered to be of Routine (+3) difficulty. If he hits, he gets a bonus to his DR for the same amount. If he fails to hit, his opponent may strike with the same conditions.

Example:
Sekio (Iaijutsu 6, Reflexes 2, Void 2) and Toshi ((Iaijutsu 5, Reflexes 2, Void 3) are duelling. Both spend two turns discovering each others abilities. On the third turn Sekio declares a raise, Toshi raises too. On the fourth turn Sekio raises again, which is uped by Toshi. On the fifth turn Sekio has to strike, because he raised twice and has only a Void of two. Therefore Toshi attacks first. Toshi has iaijutsu of 5, with a -4 modifier (2 raises by Sekio and two by Toshi) and 2 for his reflexes and +3 for Routine difficulty. So Toshi has to rill under 6 (5-42+3). If he misses, Sekio can counterattack and he has to roll under 7 (6-4+2+3).

Derived attribute: Void
Take the average of all eight primary attributes and look up the table. A starting character will getsomething between 0 and 6. With random method higher levels are possible, but unlikely.
